Snow-Flakes
Out of the bosom of the Air
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.
Even as our cloudy fancies take
Suddenly shape in some divine expression,
Even as the troubled heart doth make
In the white countenance confession
The troubled sky reveals
The grief it feels.
This is the poem of the air,
Slowly in silent syllables recorded;
This is the secret of despair,
Long in its cloudy bosom hoarded,
Now whispered and revealed
To wood and field.

– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Even though it hasn’t snowed yet, temperature has certainly decreased in a very wintery manner, turning getting dressed in the morning into a challenge as the task is to not get frostbites when stepping outside. However, the fashion world has been very pleasant this fall/winter season, with an uprising revival of furry coats and jackets, which make it so much easier to create that cozy, heart warming feeling we get whenever we’re wrapped up in a comfortable blanket at home while sipping on a cup of tea. Winter may not be my favourite season in terms of weather as I get cold way too easily, it is, however, undoubtedly one of my favourite seasons regarding clothing. The luxury of layering and combining different fabrics with each other, experimenting with extravagant looks and pieces, has always been highly appealing to me. Besides the revival of (faux) fur coats there’s still the all time classic that cannot be missed during winter and Christmas season. The sweater. Sweaters exist in literally every imaginable colour, which makes them so incredibly diverse and easy to combine to every outfit, casual or elegant. Add some extraordinary accessory and there is no way you won’t make some gray, freezing days brighter.
